On behalf of all the "sweaty, never to be pleased, know more than any studio exec" I dive into one of the hot button topics of this past weekend's San Diego Comic Con.
Before the Con wish list :
DC
Rock announced to play SHAZAM or BLACK ADAM
an end to the is he or isn't he AQUAMAN for Jason Mamoa
A slate of planned DC Cinematic Universe movies
Possibly...hopefully...wishfully Batman v Superman : Dawn of Justice to go back to original 2015 release date
Justice League filming back to back with Dawn of Justice
A little more detail into what exactly Dawn of Justice is about and the villains
Some footage or a teaser for Dawn of Justice
Marvel
Dr Strange news
Black Panther
Ms Marvel
The Vision revealed
Ultron footage
Age of Ultron footage
Movie titles to go with the various dates that were secured by Marvel
WHAT WE GOT
Dawn of Justice teaser 55 seconds
Wonder Woman image
Ant Man information, teaser and Hope Pym character inclusion
Avengers Age of Ultron 3min and 30 sec sizzler
The Cast of Age of Ultron including the Infinity Gauntlet wearing Josh Brolin (THANOS)
Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot THE DC TRINITY
Summary:
Meh. The fans lost- mainly because our expectations weren't met. We lost because we wanted the entire toy box to be flipped over and emptied for us to play with all day. We woke up Saturday morning with the same glee and joy of Christmas morning and after all the unwrapping was done we got socks, batteries, a couple of shirts and one of the 15 toys we asked Santa for.
If I'm playing the role of sweaty rage nerd: Marvel brought more but WB/DC brought Batman. They allowed bootleg footage to sit on youtube long enough for all the geeks and nerds like myself to see it at least once and then chat about it all sunday. If you want to beat BATMAN- you'll need more than RDJ throwing roses and Josh Brolin wearing a toy glove.
If I'm being rational normal general audience know absolutely nothing about comics and only know what I have seen in movies.... well in that case you got Batman v Superman and almost 4 minutes of Avengers goodness.
For me- The Movie Nerd Upstairs.....optimism has settled in and I am happy to have two great teaser to the two most anticipated comic book movies to date. I declare it a TIE.
Overall 3.5 Nerd burgers with a small vanilla shake
